Built in Newcastle. Tested by Huskies.

Hi, I'm Johnny — the maker behind LittlebearK9. Every piece of gear that leaves my workshop in Newcastle-upon-Tyne is handcrafted by me, tested relentlessly by my two Siberian Huskies, Mishka and Nova, and built to last a lifetime of adventures.

How It Started

LittlebearK9 began out of frustration. As a Husky owner, I couldn't find dog gear that was genuinely escape-proof, well-made, and worth the price. So I built it myself.

In 2021, we launched our first Colour Collection — soft, lightweight webbing leads designed to stand out on any walk. It was a starting point, and our customers loved the idea. But we knew we could do better.

By 2022, we'd levelled up. We introduced our anti-escape harnesses, padded harnesses, and adjustable leads — all crafted from premium webbing and hardware, engineered specifically for powerful breeds like Siberian Huskies, Labradors, and German Shepherds. These weren't off-the-shelf products. Every design was road-tested, refined, and road-tested again.

In 2024, we upgraded our sewing machine. Replacing our desktop sewing machine with an industrial sewing machine that weighs 40kg in weight. 

In 2025, we rebranded from Little Bear Leads to LittlebearK9 — a name that better reflects everything we've grown into: a full range of premium, handmade canine equipment.

Our Testers

Mishka and Nova don't go easy on gear. They chase pigeons, squirrels, and — yes — the occasional horse. If it survives them, it'll survive anything. Every product in our range, from our anti-escape harnesses to our 7.5cm memory foam beds, has earned its place through real-world testing.
